Miriam small hollow cross necklace, worn, Grace & Glory Jewelry

From Scripture to Silver: How the Bible Inspires Our Christian Jewelry

By Liina, founder of Grace & Glory Jewelry

Remember the first Bible story that felt like it was written about you. Every Grace & Glory Jewelry piece starts the same way: with a person in the Bible and one moment from their story. Only then does it become a sketch. Here is how four of them made it from the page to a necklace you can wear every day.

Miriam: a girl in the reeds

Miriam stood in the reeds of the Nile and watched a basket carrying her baby brother drift toward Pharaoh’s daughter. She walked up, offered to find a nurse for the baby, and brought back their own mother. Years later she led the women of Israel in song.

“Then Miriam the prophet, Aaron’s sister, took a timbrel in her hand, and all the women followed her, with timbrels and dancing.” Exodus 15:20 (NIV)

The Miriam hollow cross is open in the center and light enough to wear every day. It is 1.2 inches tall, from $59.

Moses: the man who said he couldn’t speak

At the burning bush, Moses gave God a list of reasons he was the wrong man. God sent him anyway.

“Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.” Exodus 4:12 (NIV)

The Moses hollow cross is the bolder sister of Miriam: 1.6 inches on a 24-inch chain, from $84. These two crosses were the first Grace & Glory Jewelry designs.

Deborah: the judge who went

Israel’s commander told Deborah he wouldn’t go into battle unless she came with him. She went.

“Certainly I will go with you,” said Deborah. “But because of the course you are taking, the honor will not be yours…” Judges 4:9 (NIV)

The Deborah sword is a small, fine 1.8-inch pendant, from $54.

David: the youngest son with a sling

David was sent to take bread to his brothers and came home having faced a giant. The David sword is our largest pendant at 2.7 inches, engraved with 2 Corinthians 10:3, from $84.

The women on the charms

The charms carry the women of Scripture: Hannah, who prayed so hard the priest thought she was drunk; Ruth, who said “where you go I will go”; Abigail, who talked an angry David out of bloodshed; Rachel, Rebekah, Sarah, Mary and Mary Magdalene. Most charms are $19. Add them to a charm bracelet or a charm necklace.

From sketch to silver

Every design is drawn by hand first. The sketch becomes a precise digital model, and the piece is 3D printed directly in 925 sterling silver in the USA, then polished and, if you choose, finished with 24K gold or 14K rose gold plating. It is nickel-free and arrives in the Grace & Glory Jewelry gift box. The whole process is in how our jewelry is made.
